Interim Chancellor Bicak

Charlie Bicak most recently served as senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs from 2009 to 2022, and became 体育菠菜大平台 interim chancellor on June 1, 2024. A Kearney Catholic High School graduate, Bicak has deep ties to Kearney and 体育菠菜大平台. His late father, Laddie, was a longtime faculty member at 体育菠菜大平台. After working summers on the campus grounds crew, Bicak enrolled at Kearney State College in 1970, and played football for the Lopers for two years before earning his bachelor’s degree in biology education in 1974.

回到1905年, when Kearney began as the Nebraska State Normal School, through 1921 when the Nebraska State Teachers College emerged, to 1963 when we became Kearney State College, and 1991 when we joined the University of Nebraska, 体育菠菜大平台 has delivered quality, affordable education to Nebraskans and beyond as part of our mission.

The economics department is like a family to me. From the first day of my freshman year, the staff has supported me and helped me to achieve whatever I set my sights on – both in class and outside of class.
